Human activities that destroys the Environment
Human activities that destroys the Environment
Global warming is a serious concerns, already having significant and costly effects on our communities, our health, and our climate.
Greenhouse gases trap can make the planet warmer. Human activities are responsible for almost all of the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere over the last 150 years. The largest source of greenhouse gas emissions from human activities is from burning fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation.
Two areas required an immediate actions are Electricity and the Transportations.
All the Countries around the world are driving towards adding the capacity to increase the share of renewables in their energy mixes. But, they’re not doing it quickly enough to meet the Paris Agreement goal, to hold the global average temperature increase to “well below” 2°C above preindustrial levels, and as close as possible to 1.5°C.
Limiting global warming depends on a rapid transition from fossil fuels to more sustainable energy sources. Yet many countries continue to rely on coal-fired power to meet rising demand for energy and fossil fuel for Transportation.
Achieving a stable, sustainable and affordable global energy system will require a collaborative and systematic approach to solving problems and exploiting opportunities such as the new technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, according to the latest edition of the World Economic Forum’s Fostering Effective Energy Transition report.
The goal is simple. Carbon dioxide is the climate’s worst enemy. It’s released when oil, coal, and other fossil fuels are burned for energy—the energy we use to power our homes, cars, and smartphones. By using less of it, switching our owned vehicles to solar charged Electric mobility, we can curb our own contribution to climate change while also saving money. Here are a Ten easy, effective ways each one of us can make a difference:
1. Speak up
What’s the single biggest way you can make an impact on global climate change? “Talk to your friends and family, and make sure your representatives are making good decisions. By voicing your concerns—via social media or, better yet, directly to your elected officials—you send a message that you care about the warming world. Encourage Governments to enact new laws that limit carbon emissions and require polluters to pay for the emissions they produce.
2. Power your home with renewable energy.
Start demanding the utility company to supply at least half its power from wind or solar and has been certified by Green-e Energy, Also ensure you start generate on your rooftop the Green energy and use it, also export if it is extra to grid, weather you are Residential, Industrial, commercial or even the farmer who uses for the pump-sets. Also educate the subsidies available from the state and central for the Rooftop and farmer solar installations in India.
3. Heating and Cooling,
Building heating and cooling are among the biggest uses of energy in residential, commercial buildings and also the Industrial heatings, Indeed, heating and air-conditioning account for almost half of energy use. Solar water heating and pressure pump heating technologies are catching up please explore and Industrial heating can be thought of concentrated and solar heating. Many community cooking can be Concentrated solar steam cooking.
4. Invest in energy-efficient appliances.
Start using energy efficient appliances, machines in all your applications. Now Bureau of Indian standard(BIS) insists the manufacturers to replace all the appliances to star Rating. The “Energy efficiency is the lowest-cost way to reduce emissions. When shopping for refrigerators, washing machines, and other appliances, look for the Energy Star label. It will tell you which are the most efficient. Also Pull the plug if you are out of home. The idle load because of Audio’s Video devices, Televisions, Vacuum and power tools, washing machines are substantially makes difference in your energy waste.
5. Reduce water waste.
Saving water reduces carbon pollution, too. That's because it takes a lot of energy to pump, heat, and treat your water. So take shorter showers, turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, and switch to WaterSense-labeled fixtures and appliances.
6. Eat the food you grow—and make less of it meat.
Approximately 10 percent of energy use goes into processing, packaging, and shipping modernised snack foods and packaged food stores—about 40 percent of which just winds up in the landfill, also creates plastic waste which is an other setback to environment. “If you’re wasting less food, you’re likely cutting down on energy consumption. And since livestock products are among the most resource-intensive to produce, eating meat-free meals can make a big difference too for energy consumption.
7. Replace LED Bulbs .
LED lightbulbs use up to 80 percent less energy than conventional incandescents. They’re also cheaper in the long run
8. Drive a fuel-efficient vehicle.
Gas-smart cars, such as hybrids and fully electric vehicles, save fuel and money. Bangalore alone has app. 85 lakhs of vehicles. Vehicle population is is more or less touching human population in the city, Vehicles fuel burning is one of the major contributor for the global warming. Now the electric vehicles are getting introduced in the city, people have to replace the fossil fuel vehicle to Solar chargeable electric vehicles as early as possible to make city a corbon free.
9.Rethink planes, trains, and automobiles.
Choosing to live in walkable smart-growth cities and towns with quality public transportation leads to less driving, less money spent on fuel, and less pollution in the air. Less frequent flying can make a big difference, too. “Air transport is a major source of climate pollution, If you can take a train instead, do that.”
10. Shrink your carbon profile.
You can offset the carbon you produce by purchasing carbon offsets like (Renewable Energy Certificates) REC certificates introduced in the country, which represent clean power that you can add to the nation’s energy grid in place of power from fossil fuels.
